Earlier this month, the existence of a security incident related to a server containing user information for early Soundwave users was discovered. A forensic analysis was initiated and it was confirmed that the concerned server had already been deprecated (production data had been used to populate the test database inadvertently and it is this data which has been breached).
The information in the test database included emails, names, username, sex, date of birth and in some cases, MD5 hashed passwords.
Emails have been sent to users whose information has been identified as compromised. If you have received an email from Soundwave and have been using the same password on both Soundwave and any other online services, we urge you to change your password.
Apologies to anyone affected and for any inconvenience caused.
